Jon Schriver currently serves as the Director of Bands at Chisholm Trail High School, where he leads the band program with a focus on musical excellence, student leadership, and meaningful educational experiences. With 14 years of experience in music education, Mr. Schriver has led successful band programs and played an active role in advancing fine arts education throughout Texas. Most recently, he served as Director of Bands and Fine Arts for Cameron ISD, where he guided the C. H. Yoe High School Band to sustained success, including multiple UIL Sweepstakes Awards, repeated appearances at the UIL State Marching Contest, and finalist recognition in both the TMEA Honor Band and ATSSB Outstanding Performance Series competitions. Under his leadership, the Yoe Band program was featured as a 2025 TMEA Program Spotlight.
Prior to his appointment in Cameron, Mr. Schriver served as Head Band Director in Valley Mills ISD. Throughout his career, ensembles under his direction have earned consistent recognition for excellence in marching and concert performance, including a UIL State Marching Contest Championship, multiple TMEA Honor Band finalist appearances, and ATSSB Outstanding Performance Series finalist selections.
Recognized as an active leader within the music education community, Mr. Schriver served as the ATSSB Region 8 Coordinator and is a frequent adjudicator, clinician, and guest conductor throughout the state. In 2022, he was named the Young Bandmaster of the Year by Phi Beta Mu. He has presented sessions at both the Texas Music Educators Association Clinic/Convention and the Texas Bandmasters Association Convention, sharing expertise on program development, leadership, and musical achievement.
Mr. Schriver holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from East Texas A&M University and a Master of Educational Administration degree from Lamar University. He is an active member of the Texas Music Educators Association, Association of Texas Small School Bands, Texas Music Adjudicators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and an Alpha Chapter member of Phi Beta Mu.
Throughout his career, Mr. Schriver has remained committed to developing comprehensive music programs that cultivate artistic excellence, student leadership, and a lifelong appreciation for music. His philosophy centers on creating meaningful educational experiences that challenge students to achieve at the highest levels while fostering character, teamwork, and personal growth.
Kyle Lentz, Assistant Director

Assistant Band Director
Mr. Lentz grew up in Denton Texas where he attended Denton Ryan High School and first fell in love with band.
Inspired by his high school band director, he enrolled at the University of Texas at Arlington in 2020 to pursue a career in music education. While in school he worked with marching bands, and taught clarinet lessons in Arlington ISD for 2 years before completing student teaching at Birdville High School.
After graduating from college in 2025 Mr. Lentz joined us at Chisholm Trail as both a long term sub in the fall and as a clarinet lesson teacher in the spring. Now he is back as the assistant band director in his first full year with the program.
Ryan Miller, Assistant Director/Percussion Director

Ryan Miller is an educator, clinician, freelance musician, music arranger, and drill writer. Ryan is in his fourth year as Assistant Director of Bands at Chisholm Trail HS. He previously served as the Director of Percussion at Lake Worth High School for the past four years.
Mr. Miller holds his degree in Music from the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) studying under Dr. Michael Varner and Jim Yakas. During his time at UTA, he worked at many successful high schools across the DFW area as well as multiple independent groups, including Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps and Vigilantes Indoor Percussion. He has served in various roles from Visual Caption Head to Bass Tech.
Mr. Miller has designed numerous marching shows, both indoor and outdoor, many of which received multiple awards. He has also been a part of many different performing groups including The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps, Tyler Junior college indoor drumline, Dallas Mavs drumline, and Dynamic Rhythm, to name a few. Mr. Miller is honored to have the opportunity to work at Chisholm Trail High School.
