Emily Rivers joins Chisholm Trail High School in the Fall of 2019 and will serve as Assistant Band Director. She is originally from Sherman, Texas where she graduated from Sherman High School. Miss Rivers received her Bachelor’s of Music Education in 2017 from Texas Christian University where she studied clarinet under Gary Whitman. While at TCU, Miss Rivers was a proud member of the Horned Frog Marching Band, Wind Symphony, and Clarinet Chamber Ensemble. She completed her student teaching at Aledo High School under Joey Paul and Jake Albin. For the last two years, she has served as the Assistant Band Director at Anahuac ISD in Anahuac, Texas. Miss Rivers is a member of Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, Women Band Directors International, and Mu Phi Epsilon. She currently resides in Saginaw with her cat, Donovan Lewis Knowles-Carter, and could not be more thrilled for the upcoming year.

Ryan Miller is an educator, clinician, free lance musician, music arranger and drill writer. Ryan is in his first year as Assistant Director of Bands at Chisholm Trail HS. He previously served as the Director of Percussion at Lake Worth High School for the past four years.
Mr. Miller holds his degree in Music from the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) studying under Dr. Michael Varner and Jim Yakas. During his time at UTA, he worked at many successful high schools across the DFW area as well as multiple independent groups, including Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps and Vigilantes Indoor Percussion. He has served in various roles from Visual Caption Head to Bass Tech.
Mr. Miller has designed numerous marching shows, both indoor and outdoor, many of which received multiple awards. He has also been a part of many different performing groups including The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps, Tyler Junior college indoor drumline, Dallas Mavs drumline, and Dynamic Rhythm, to name a few.
Mr. Miller is honored to have the opportunity to work at Chisholm Trail High School. He looks forward to getting to know the Ranger Regiment family!
Maverick Peterson is a musician that has served as a professional educator and composer for 10 years. An accomplished expert in his profession, Maverick has taught and consulted for over 50 marching percussion ensembles, composed and arranged well over 100 shows for the marching arts, and composed music for several independent short films and media projects. As a prior member of the Insignia Indoor Drumline, Surround Sound Percussion and Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps, Maverick makes sure to always spread his expertise while seeking additional knowledge.
Maverick currently serves as the owner and primary music designer at Maverick Peterson Creative, LLC where he composes, arranges, and creates sound effects for indoor drumlines, winterguards, and marching band percussion ensembles. He also acts as a consultant to numerous marching bands, helping them to incorporate electronics into their programs and streamline their front ensemble’s setup.
Before being named the Percussion Specialist for Chisholm Trail High School, he was the Assistant Percussion Director at Richland High School in North Richland Hills, Texas. In 2017 Richland placed 6th out of 250 bands in the 2017 UIL State Marching Band Contest. In 2016 they won the PAS Percussion Ensemble Competition and was invited to perform at the PAS International Convention. From 2013 to 2015 he was the Front Ensemble Coordinator, Composer and Electronics Designer for Vigilantes Indoor Percussion, winning Open Class at the WGI Championships with the highest score in history in 2016. From 2014 to 2017 he was on staff with the Blue Devils B Drum and Bugle Corps. He became their Front Ensemble Arranger and Co-electronics Designer in 2016. The group won the DCI Open Class Championships, along with the best percussion award in 2014 and 2016.
